I have an arm socket on a robot with this code

WHEN [duration timer][2] DO [pitch][slowly]
WHEN [countdown timer][2] DO [pitch][slowly][invert]

This moves the arm up and down.

But this will only do the movement once. How do I get the arm to swing up and down continuously? I am so rusty with koding I have forgotten how to do things I knew how to do before.

Bugs and Solutions / Phantom Footsteps Bug (FPS)
« Last post by LadylexUK on November 21, 2017, 04:07:48 am »
Symptom: When playing with first person shooter brain or an invisible player with a shooting weapon, after you fire and run you can hear footsteps and see dust come up out of the floor in front of you even though your player is standing still.
Cause: DLC Update
Existed since: June 2015
Solution: There is no absolute solution, but there are workarounds

1. Use a different camera set up than first person where the player is not invisible
2. Make the player as quiet as possible and use an external brain for gun and walking sounds
3. Force the player to fire once when they stop moving, which stops the effects

Bugs and Solutions / Game stops and starts every few seconds (Xbox)
« Last post by LadylexUK on November 21, 2017, 03:51:04 am »
Symptom: When launching Project Spark the game freezes every 3 or 4 seconds. This does not happen until the game has loaded and you get to the main menu.
Cause: Something to do with not being able to access the Project Spark servers
Existed Since: Aug 2016
Solution: Quit Project Spark and relaunch. Also, it tends not to happen if you do not skip the intro video.

PS creations / Do you want your game added to the archive?
« Last post by LadylexUK on November 20, 2017, 08:54:51 am »
If your game was never played by the few Project Spark YouTubers that posted videos up between 2013 and 2016 then you should consider making your own lets play video of your game. I have an archive at schoolofkode.wordpress.com that contains hundred of videos catalogued for easy search. I want to add as many active Sparkers games to the archive as possible. Also, brand new creations that can only be seen if you make videos of them. There are various formats you could use - A walkthrough, (with or without commentary). A trailer style video. Get a friend to play it so you get a first play response video, or a "making of" style video showing your kode and designs.

If you have put up a video I should be able to find it if you have used Project Spark in the title of your video - however the YouTube search is not all that accurate and I have found some videos are not being pulled up in search when they should be, so to be on the safe side post here to say you have a video available with a link.

Tutorial Help / FAQs

I do not have Project Spark. Can I still get it?
It is not available in the Marketplace, and I do not believe you can still download it for Xbox One or PC (if anyone knows different please post below), but you can still buy secondhand copies of the disk for XboxOne from various sources and also "new" sealed copies from some online stores. Prices range from £4-£10 ($5-$13). I still waiting on responses from those who have newly acquired Project Spark to see what you will receive from the disc and what you will not.

XboxOne: I have downloaded it but it is starting and stopping every 3 seconds
This is a bug caused by the loss of the Project Spark servers. Just quit the game and relaunch, it should run better the second time. You will have to do this every time you want to play.

Can I get this for Xbox 360?
Although there were plans in place for an Xbox360 version of Project Spark, it never happened. It is not possible to play Project Spark on Xbox360.

I heard it was cancelled. How can I still play?
If you have it downloaded you will have access to Create mode, Crossroads, Void Storm and Conkers Big Reunion. The servers were shut down in August 2016. You do not have access to Community levels, stats, Project Spark official website, multiplayer play or create, and some achievements will not be accessible because of it.

Is everything other than Community levels still available?
If you had Project Spark before August 2016 then you should have most things, however the gallery is missing some packs that were launched last - the major DLC being Noxious Bog which was not implemented into the offline version of the game. You may also notice the loss of the rat model and other late additions. (If anyone knows exactly what is missing then please post below).

I am new to kode. How do I get started?
There is a tutorial level in Project Spark. There are also various Starter videos on YouTube. There is My First Book of Kode pdf available from the website http://www.projectspark.co.uk
Search the tutorials on schoolofkode and look for the basic tutorials and starter guides to get you koding.

I have made something I want to share. How do I do that?
If you are on Xbox your only outlet is to make gameplay videos and post them to Xbox Live or YouTube. PC users may like to investigate SparkShare which has the facility to share assemblies and levels with other PC players. For Xbox One Sparkers join the Project Spark Team Club and post there. It is pretty active with posts every day of screenshots and videos of completed and wip projects.

How can I find games that other people have made?
There is a Project Spark video archive on http://www.projectspark.co.uk. Search for a topic, title, game type or creator to pull up videos of hundreds of Project Spark creations both new and old.

General Discussion / Why do you think Microsoft canned Project Spark?
« Last post by LadylexUK on November 20, 2017, 07:14:55 am »
There have been many articles and videos on this subject. My personal thoughts are that with the purchase of Minecraft they no longer need Project Spark, but did need the developers in Team Dakota. When the developers left for Minecraft and there was no one to promote, fix or develop the game, they gave it a year of running time just for the fans. I suppose you should be grateful we had that time, as I suspect there were suggestions to pull the plug in October 2015.

Why do you think it was canned? Was the game fatally flawed? Was it a bad idea to start with? Did it not get enough promotion? Post your thoughts here.

General Discussion / Welcome to the School of Kode Forum
« Last post by LadylexUK on November 20, 2017, 07:09:26 am »
Welcome fellow Sparkers!
With the loss of all official forums I am adding this forum to the School of Kode website in the hope that it will be a useful tool for the Project Spark player community to be able to communicate with each other. Please keep it friendly and respect the board subjects. Please feel free to request specific boards if you think we need them. All fans of Project Spark welcome.

Project Spark is still playable and you can still create amazing things. If you have PC you can share your game using the SparkShare service, for Xbox you can share videos of play on YouTube and Xbox Live.

You can use this forum to discuss all things Project Spark. I have put up some sample discussion topics to get you going.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
